Welcome to Japanese Mom Makes!

Hello! If you’ve supported my YouTube channel, I’m so happy to see you here on my blog. And if this is your first time meeting me—welcome! It’s very nice to meet you.
Since I only share a little about myself on my channel, let me properly introduce myself.
I was born and raised in Nagoya, Japan. Growing up, I was surrounded by the English books my mom was studying, so I naturally became interested in American culture. In the summer of my sophomore year of high school, I had the chance to visit the United States. Later, during my junior year in college, I studied in the Midwest—and that’s where I met my husband.
We spent our first 10 years of marriage in Nagoya before moving to the United States, where I still live today.

My passion for cooking began after my father was diagnosed with multiple cancers and given less than a year to live. That experience taught me how deeply homemade meals can comfort and connect people.
To me, homemade cooking isn’t about fancy, restaurant-style presentation. It’s about the flavors you grow up with—the ones that stay with you for a lifetime. Sometimes, a simple dish can bring back a vivid memory from long ago.

I hope some of my recipes will become part of someone’s cherished memories in the future.
Thank you again for coming to Japanese Mom Makes!
